Pro tips
-
We tested a Greek yogurt and a plant-based yogurt in this recipe and both turned out great!
-
Elderberries are difficult to find fresh so we used a unsweetened elderberry juice, if you can only find the sweet version you can exclude the honey. If you don’t have elderberry juice, use the juice from another fruit like apple and omit the honey.
-
If using this recipe as a meal replacement, add in some protein powder.
-
Use plant-based yogurt and swap the honey for maple syrup or agave nectar to make it vegan.
-
Use this recipe as a base for a mixed berry smoothie bowl and add your own toppings like ripe bananas and fresh berries.
